Subject of the proceeding: Mishandling of prisoners in KL Lichtenburg (1935-1937) and in KL Buchenwald (1937-1943), in part with fatal results. Participation in the slaying of a civilian who had called out to prisoners from a work column marching back to KL Lichtenburg: 'Head high! There will come a better time for you!' Participation in the shooting of prisoners in KL Buchenwald, among them 700-1000 Soviet POW's in the execution facility ('Genickschussanlage'). Participation in so-called anti-partisan warfare in Estonia (1943-1945): Seizure and mishandling of persons suspected of partisan activities as well as of inhabitants of burned-down villages, who were subsequently shot by execution squads
