On behalf of the Justiz und NS-Verbrechen / Nazi Crimes
on Trial project, EX POST FACTO has geographically marked the crime
locations of the post-war German trials with the help of Google Maps.*)
Alphabetically listed below, are over 1700 towns, villages and other
places where Nazi crimes were committed which were prosecuted and tried
before East and West German courts after the war.

In pin-pointing the various loci delicti we tried to be
as accurate as possible. In many instances we succeeded in establishing
the exact location of places which seemed wholly untraceable at first. A
great help were the many excellent websites with information on
(re-named) place names, different spellings of geographical locations,
etc. Nonetheless, there still remain a few places which could either not
be found or whose location is still uncertain. We've marked them
accordingly. Please note that the locations you find on the maps are
geographical approximations, based on the information given in the trial
judgments.
The names of the locations given here are spelled like
the German ones found on the website of the JuNSV-project. No effort was
made to anglicize or adapt them in accordance with the spelling in the
European countries to which they belong.
With the exception of the first two lists ("Berlin" and
"A-B"), we have for the moment abstained from including descriptions of
the crimes committed in the respective locations. You can read all
about them at the Justiz und NS-Verbrechen / Nazi Crimes on Trial
website to which links are included. To facilitate investigations, we
have included lists of crime locations by country at the bottom of this
page.

Nazi Crimes on Trial digital data base contains many more places
associated with these crime locations. Since they were not the focus of
the criminal trial proceedings under consideration however, they are not
included here (even though in many of these similar crimes may have
